Biography:
The Bible Belt: Not a place many would expect to find a progressive rock band. But Central Arkansas is exactly where Har Meggido hails from.  Lauded in their own back yards as “pretentious idiots” and “self-righteous wankers” it’s no wonder that Har Meggido toured their home state so exclusively.

The six feet of this band all rest firmly in different influences.  From Doom Metal to jazz; Post-punk to Hip Hop and all points in between.  This band represents the cultural melting pot that the scene in and around Little Rock, Arkansas has become pseudo-famous for (see the DVD “Towncraft” for more reference on this).

Har Meggido have shared the stage with many of today’s most punishing and cutting edge metal and progressive music acts: Dysrhythmia, Torche, Deadbird, Grayceon, Darediablo, Trephine, Giant Squid, Debris Inc, Rescue, and scores of others.

Many people have made comparisons like, “Think The Fucking Champs and Tortoise versus Yes and Megadeth in a tag team cage match…No Holds Barred.”  The accuracy of this comparison is debatable, but the sentiment is not. These are 3 dudes who take their squiddly squiddly guitar parts, arpeggiated bass lines, and off-kilter drum beats seriously.  So serious, in fact, that they name their songs after characters in Mr. Show, slowly cruising on large spinning rims, and yes…buttholes. 

Okay, maybe they don’t take themselves seriously, but you should.  Ask yourselves this: Would members of the band Rwake (Relapse Records) and Scouts Honor (No Idea Records) and then some kid who is in graduate school in New Zealand studying geography really steer you wrong?
